Family Planning Funding Continued thanks to women speaking up!

May 2011: Hamilton County Commissioners decided to not accept state funding for our local Health Department’s Family Planning Program.  The Women’s Fund of Greater Chattanooga called our constituents to action, who wrote letters, emails, and engaged in conversation with our Commissioners in order to reverse the decision so that the women in need have access to the health care services they deserve.  On May 18, due in part to the large presence of women from our network, the Commissioners reversed their decision and reinstated this crucial funding for the Health Department.
